Bowen Therapy is a hands on therapy where the practitioner uses her hands to perform a rolling motion over muscles, tendons and nerves. The touch is very gentle and does not cause any pain or discomfort to receive. Sessions last from 20-60 minutes and it is typical to receive sessions 7 days apart from one another.
Most clients will receive benefit from their first session, but it may take up to 5 sessions or longer depending on the issue being experienced. There are regular “breaks” or “pauses” during a session where your therapist will leave the room and allow you to fully relax. This is one aspect of Bowen therapy that sets it apart from other modalities and bodywork experiences. Give Bowen therapy a try, even if you have tried everything else.
