Practitioner: Helen Ryan
LOVE NUTRITION was created to advise and motivate people to improve their health, wellbeing and lifestyle through the enjoyment of good food, both as a preventative and for any current illnesses.
Chronic diseases are on the increase and many people do not get the right balance of nutrients, amino acids and fats to help the body fight disease. By addressing the underlying cause, Helen at Love Nutrition uses food therapeutically to alleviate and encourage natural healing and restoration of the body. Good nutrition goes a long way for a long life!
Helen is a Nutritional Therapist having studied at The Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health in Bray, and the College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dublin. She has also trained with Dr Bill Walsh of the Walsh Research Institute, Illinois, in the area of advanced nutrient therapy for mental health.
Her passion for Nutritional Therapy developed from her own struggles with eczema. Having spent way too much money on potions and lotions and therapies over the years she eventually found the answer lay in her biochemistry and nutritional profile – which foods don’t work for her, and most importantly which foods do work for her. Helen is now, thankfully, clear of eczema. She believes strongly in Hippocrates adage ‘Let food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food’. Her approach is simple: small changes can make a big difference.
Helen has seen hundreds of clients with digestive disorders, skin ailments, adrenal fatigue, arthritis, weight issues, diabetes, autoimmune conditions, autism, anxiety, depression and many other issues, benefit from Nutritional Therapy. She uses a functional medicine approach and works directly with clients to determine what will best satisfy their individual needs. In the area of mental health she mixes the rebalancing of brain biochemistry to normalize the brain with nutritional therapy. Amazing improvements and permanent change have been brought to many when they thought their depression and anxiety could not be overcome. Support, encouragement and practicality, including lots of tasty nourishing food and healthy personalised meal plans, and setting realistic goals, is of paramount importance to Helen in helping her clients regain and maintain their health, both in mind and body.
Helen has private clinics in Bray, Lucan, Naas and Maynooth. She does Food Intolerance Testing using a blood prick sample. When necessary she does further functional testing – hormonal, stool testing, fatty acids, nutrient status etc. She also does talks and presentations to corporate companies, and runs weight loss programs. She keeps up to date on the latest developments and research in nutrition by regularly attending CPD (Continuous Professional Development) courses, seminars and conferences.
She is a founding member of The Nutritional Therapists of Ireland (www.ntoi.ie), a Patrick Holford Zest4Life (weightloss) coach, and a Reiki Master.
We all have to eat every day….we may as well do it right….eat for our biochemistry and feel energetic and fantastic with long lasting benefits!
